Biography
Natalie is a Volunteer Research Assistant at the Centre for Dementia Studies, Brighton & Sussex Medical School. She has a background in Neuroscience and completed her BSc at the University of Nottingham.
Natalie previously worked at the Biochemical Society as Commissioning Editor across a portfolio of peer-reviewed bioscience journals. She has a strong interest and skills in science communication and participatory research.
Research
Natalie is currently working on a study investigating how performance on verbal fluency tasks varies between different age groups. The study aims to increase our understanding of the natural cognitive changes that occur with age and is part of a larger project looking at speech-based markers of Alzheimer's risk.
She is interested in dementia risk and detection, and more broadly neurodegenerative disease, stroke and neurorehabilitation. Natalie is interested in working as a Research Assistant in one of these fields in the future.
